This is it! The Apple Watch has its first cover on a fashion magazine: Vogue China. Photographed by David Sims, styled by Karl Temper, the cover consecrates the beginning of Apple smartwatch in fashion. It’s the model Liu Wen that had this honor.
Approached to be the face of the watch, Liu Wen had posted on her Instagram account a photo of the presentation at Colette with a curious caption “My second meeting with the #AppleWatch, this time [email protected]! The first time? Well, you’ll see soon. “So the rumors were true.
“As the first publication to present the fashion Watch Apple on its cover, Vogue China continues the tradition at Vogue: move with the times, to give our readers a sneak preview of a piece of avant-garde technology which also serves as highly coveted fashion accessory” told Angelica Cheung, editorial Director at Vogue China, to the Telegraph.
Apple has initiated its “entry” into fashion. Presented in exclusivity by Jonathan Ive and Marc Newson at a dinner which was attended by the elite of fashion, it has then been exposed to the showroom Alaïa, at Colette in Paris during the SS15 Fashion Week and presented to journalists and other fashion bloggers during the Keynote.
