I don’t know about you, but I have been waiting for quite some time to see how Apple would communicate on its much awaited smartwatch. It finally came out, Apple is taking over 12 pages in the March issue of US Vogue.
The extensive 12-page spread presents the smartwatch as a fashion accessory targeting high fashion audience. The ads will be featured in Vogue’s “Spring Fashion Blockbuster”. Simple advertisements with clean, plain white backgrounds.
Although I am a big fan of minimalist ads, I admit I’m a bit disappointed to see it is focusing mainly on the product. OK, it is still a wearable tech gear, and it still needs product-focused communication. But as we saw what they did for Vogue China and Self Magazine, I was expecting something more fashionable. But I’m sure they’ll get something later-on, at least as a fashion-savvvy, I’m waiting for it.
What do you think about these ads? Will you buy the watch, hitting stores this April?
